Why us?

Our property at Shady Point Resort offers cozy and comfortable cottages for your family vacation. Each cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, living area, and bedrooms to provide all the comforts of home. Our cottages can accommodate groups of various sizes.

In addition to the private amenities within each cottage, our resort also offers a variety of shared services for our guests to enjoy. These include a private beach with a swim out jump pad, shared dock with electricity, park for children, badminton court, kayaks, paddle boats, pontoon boat rentals, basketball nets, and a lazy river complete with tubes for floating. 

One of the best parts of Shady Point is our Thermal Escape! Heat up in our new Cedar Barrel Sauna, next cool off in the natural outdoor rain shower or hop in the fresh water river. Finally, relax on our beautiful 200ft relaxation deck by the fire. 

We understand the importance of staying connected during your vacation, which is why we offer high speed Starlink internet throughout the resort. This ensures that our guests can stay connected and online during their stay. We also allow small dogs (maximum 25lbs) in designated cottages, with a limit of one pet per cottage.

Our resort is conveniently located in the town of Buckhorn, which offers a variety of conveniences such as a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, antique shops, and more. The City of Peterborough is also just a short drive away and boasts shopping, entertainment, and attractions such as the Peterborough Lift Locks and Riverview Zoo. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation, including walking and hiking trails, canoeing and kayaking, and golfing at nearby courses. Plus, our resort is a great place for fishing, with bass, muskie, pickerel, and more found in the nearby lakes.
